A logo is a fundamental component of a brand's identity. It is the "face" of a company. It serves both as a visual representation of a business as well as a very powerful marketing tool.
Designing a logo is not a quick and easy process. For an effective logo to be made, it will take time and effort. To have a logo that best represents a business, designers take their time to learn the business- their values, their market, their competition, etc. Although it’s different for every single one, creative professionals have a design process that they follow to produce a strong and effective logo. I am writing this blog to share my logo design process:
1. Initial Design Meeting
I meet with the client/s to discuss their business, their goals, their history, their values, their style. I take this time to understand their needs. This is the part where I gather as much information from the client as possible. It is important to understand what they like or they don’t like. Explore ideas with the client.
This is the stage where I conduct research focused on the industry, the market, and the competitors. I want to make sure I understand the company and its uniqueness to develop a logo that best represents it.
3. Present Logo Solutions
Once the designs are ready, I will present at least 3 logo solutions to the client. I will happily explain my design choices. I would also like to hear the client’s feedback.
4.Review and Revise
After the client’s consideration, they would then pick a design that they like the best. They will give their feedback. Then, I would revise and improve the logo according to their feedback and ideas. After the client’s consideration, they would then pick a design that they like the best. Once the client is happy with the logo, I will provide the client with different file types such as EPS, JPEG, PNG. This way the client can use it for any marketing materials or promotional products. Keep in mind, I am still able to help design the full brand identity with the new logo.
